Performing Electrical Work

All construction subcontractors who perform hazardous electrical work are required to follow PUB-3000, Chapter 8, Electrical Safety Program, Work Process H, before work begins.


Construction subcontractor employees tasked with performing electrical work are required to be AHJ accepted as Qualified Electrical Workers (QEWs).  Construction subcontractor QEW requirements are detailed in PUB-3000, Chapter 8, Electrical Safety Program, Work Process F. Electrical work generally requires Lockout/Tagout at some point.  All subcontractors who perform LOTO must adhere to PUB-3000, Chapter 18, Lockout/Tagout Program, Work Process I.
